    Geminid meteor shower

This years show is suppose to be especially great. And in fact, so far it is!

I was just outside for 15 minutes and saw 6. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but beleive me, for the middle of L.A., seeing that many in 15 minutes is a huge deal.

Just go outside and face east. Look for the planet Mars (it's the bright orange-ish "star" (obviously not really a star) in the sky. Scan the sky to the left of Mars, up and down and around. That is the area where the meteors are shooting from.

Be sure to bundle up however, it's chilly outside (at least it is at my place).

They should be good to view tonight and tomorrow night.

We are totally cloud covered, it's snowed all day - so, probably won't see anything. Bummer.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

Saw some more for the 15 minutes extra I was out there. This time they were all to the right of Mars. So my suggestion: just scan the sky around the general Mars area

We sat outside last night and saw about 12 of them within a approximately 20 minutes. One of them was quite possibly the longest and most brilliant I've ever seen. It was quite cool.
