    Talking First drink at DLR

okay well everyone I am about to hit a new milestone... I will be turning 21 on sunday (YAY!!!) and I am going to be going to the park. We will be eating at the Story Teller Cafe... but I have NEVER had a drink... not even one little sip... so i have decided to stick to wine and champagne... so here is the question...

What should my first drink be?

I tend to like things that are sweet... and light... no yucky after taste... and it cant be a required taste... so there is the info... i look forward to hearing all of your ideas... I also was unable to find a wine menu for that place... if anyone has one or a link... that would be great!!

I have only eaten at Storytellers once ... so I can't help you.

    I'm sure somebody can though.

    Have a great birthday.

Personally, I'd suggest since your going to Storytellers anyway to take a side-trip to the Hearthstone prior to going to Storytellers. Get yourself a nice fruity drink off the drink-menu there.

Have some champagne. Since it is such a great birthday(mine too!!) you need to celebrate. If you don't want champagne have something with fruit juice so you can't taste the alcohol, but be careful because those are the ones that hit you quickest!!!

Oh and have a wonderful birthday!!

If you are sticking to wine or champagne, and you like fruity drinks that are not going to leave a bad aftertaste, your best choices are to start with a white zinfindel or white merlot. You can move on to better stuff later.

Have champagne or a glass of Riesling (not the dry one, I think at the Hearthstone it's Loosen you want) a light German wine with lot's of fruit.

If you're looking for a drink drink, try the champagne mojito. Heavenly.

MC is right--we really should wait for Bob to weigh in on this one. Additionally, I would add that if one settles down to serious drinking early in life, 7 AM itself will become a thing of the past. Good Luck, and Congratulations on your upcoming debauch!

My Fav fruity drink that actually packs a punch:

Hairy Navel: Orange Juice, Peach Schnapps & Vodka. Don'y get the fuzzy variety, not enough booze.

I'd recommend going over to the Napa Rose bar after you meal and telling them your story. I imagine that they'll find something absolutely perfect for you and within your price range, since they're all sommeliers.

While this is great and all...you're first experience needs to be memorable so here's what you do.

Get whatever the cheapest wine or champaign they have at Storytellers and get 5 of them. Down them all and then go ride the teacups.

Let us know how it turns out for you.

You have to go to the house of blues in DTD. Really good drinks, my fav is an AMF (just ask for an audios) it's really good but watch out it packs a really mean punch. Meaning it tastes really good but it will sneak up on ya haha kind of like a long island. Enjoy!!!!!!! I can't wait to go there for New Years in a week!!!!!

We are now bastardizing the lovely Mojito with champagne in place of the rum? OMFG the world really is ending soon. If you want champagne instead of rum just order a Mimosa with your breakfast.
