So How's 2007 Been For You So Far?

I started a similar thread just after this last New Year's Day, revived it at mid-year, and figured I'd ask the same question now.

As for me, I count my many blessings, but will have no problem saying goodbye to this year. Does the phrase "good riddance to bad rubbish" mean anything to you?

I'm ready for a fresh start, and to "make it great in '08".

3 things happened that I didn't want to/didn't think would happen (co-op closed, stopped being friends with someone, and I moved back in with my folks). I got evacuated and nearly lost my house (seriously 10 feet from my friend's house who lives 10 houses down. And my cabinet that was outside-because I couldn't figure out how to bring it up the staircase- was kicked down our hill to keep it away from the house, that's what the firefighters did all along my street). Oh! And I realized I have standards. Yay! Oh but I have the mutt...

2007 has been a learning experience in many ways. Personally, financially and friendship-ly. These last couple of months have been unbelievably trying, but I'm still here! I'm hoping that I will remember what I've learned this year and grow from it.

2007 has strengthened friendships, to the point that I know they are everlasting.I've been blessed with some of the best friends ever. It's brought me closer to my boys, who I am so blessed to have and who continue to amaze my daily. I've been blessed that my husbands health issue was just a scare and hopefully will remain just a scare.
2007 also brought me closer to my dad than I've ever been.

Other high points, staying in the POTC Suite, MC's bday, Memorial Day Weekend and countless get togethers

With that said, I am SO READY for 2007 to be over. Bring on 2008!

Dog needed emergency back surgery
Real estate market sucked all year
Aunt died of lung cancer
Cousin (Aunt's daughter) diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma
and before I could escape the year....
Dad nearly dies of internal bleeding and it ends up being diagnosed as esophageal cancer

I, for one, can't wait to see the back end of 2007.

My new born baby daughter.
New Job, that is soarin' to new heights as we speak and I love it.


Downside-
Lost two cats in a week.
I commute an hour too and from work.

Not that major, but looking forward to seeing 2007 end, on too bigger and greater goals.

There have been ups and downs, but, the ups FAR outweighed the downs this year and I'd say that if 2008 is as kind to me and my family as 2007---I welcome it with open arms!!!!!!!!!

Lost a aunt to brain cancer
Grandpa has had shingles for a while
My first TV broke

Goods:
Got a new tv (yey!)
A new addition to the family (we have 2 dogs now)
Got my dream afterschool job

For me 2007 was the worst year of my life. My dad died on July 5th from pancreas cancer. One of my closest friends died two months later from brain cancer. In October my house was flooded and I had to throw out most of my dads belongings because of mold and water damage. At the beginning of this month my rental car was totaled in a head on collision.


The only thing positive this year was the birth of my niece.


2008 can't get here fast enough!

Oh Katrina. I am so sorry for all of your loss this year. I cannot imagine dealing with all you've come through. You are one strong lady and I am so in awe of you.

I will be happy to bid a good riddance to 2007!

Left job due to daily commute of 2-3 hours a day. Can't find another good job, so forced to work retail.

Dog died.

House flooded.

Husband filing bankruptcy.

Bill collectors calling daily.

Good stuff: Everyone is reasonably healthy and safe.

Please let 2008 be a much better year for us all!!

Its been a year of ups and downs for me... Lets see

The good is my oldest daughter came to live with me\. which i am so happy about (the circumstances of her coming to vegas) was horrid though.. But the main thing is she is here now and is excelling in an american high school
Hubby has a promotion with his company (the down side to this) is he has to commute to seattle once a month
Both little ones are excelling in school
My oldest son went into rehab but is doing well

My middle son became engaged this year

Our transmission blew on our van (a few weeks ago) the 3rd time this has happened to that van, but the good thing is we bought a new highlander suv

Not going into details, but 2007 was a much better year than 2006 was.

I only hope that 2008 is just as good as this year was or better.
