If You Won The Lotto, What Would You Do?

If you won the Lotto or came across millions and millions of dollars, what would you do with the money? I'm thinking more of splurging type ideas.

After putting a lot of it away, helping out my family, setting up funds for my children, maybe donating, I would:
(in no particular order)
-Buy my wife a Jaguar XF
-Buy Lakers season seats at the Staples Center
-Get a really good professional personal trainer
-Take one of those stunt driving classes to learn how to do 180's into parking spots and what not
-Find or build a house I finally love
-Figure out what dream car or cars I would like to have
-Finally start one of my business ideas now that $$$ won't hold me back
-Go back to school, maybe?
-Get my Nightmare Before Christmas tattoo
-Go on vacation
-Oh yeah, quit my job!
-Open a restaurant
-Open an upscale barber shop

Now that I've already spent my winnings and I'm in debt again, what would you do?

Well, first thing I'd do is quit my job ... but of course, you gotta wait until you get the $$.

Then:

- Build my dream house. It would be a tri-level house. Bottom level: garage, office, work-out room. Middle level: main entry, kitchen, dining/living room and 3 bedrooms (2 for kids and guest). Top level: the master bedroom and a HUGE Game/TV room would take up the entire floor.
- Back Yard would have a pool, Tennis/B-Ball court and lots of awesome landscaping. Built in BBQ, etc, etc, etc.
- Buy a vacation home (condo) in FL and Hawaii.
- Buy an Acura TL (I love that car)
- Go on Vacation for the summer (kids still have to be in school). We'd spend 3 weeks in Europe, 3 weeks in Asia and 2 weeks in Australia/New Zealand. Talk about an awesome "What I did this summer report"

After the initial thrill of winning, the inevitable time-off/vacation period (6 months to a year) I'd probably start my own training/consulting company. I wouldn't want it to get TOO big so I'd have to work constantly, but just something to keep me busy.

This would never happen since I never play the lotto, but I'd travel around the world. I;d probably go on a round the world cruise.

Since I'm in college I would be able to pay all tuition. I would stay in my apartment and still live modestly and only use the money for typical things. Though I would be able to get married sooner and be able to go on a marvelous honeymoon. I wouldn't have to worry about working some crappy job and be able to wait to get a good job after getting my degree. My then husband would just have to worry about getting some sort of degree himself and not have to work full time while doing it. He would then be able to find a decent job himself. I would of course also travel around the world going to every Disney park. Oh and we would build up his jeep for off roading.

I woudl spend most of it on property: Lake front home at Bass Lake, beach front home in Cabo, I would buy the 3 empty parcels next to my vacation home up north and basically create a compound, with pool, spa, baseball, basketball, gym, etc, even though its only 30 minutes from bass lake, I would never let go of this place).

I would quit my job (assuming I had one when I won), and spend as much time with my kids as possible. I would also take some money and take hubby on a gambling binge to Vegas just for a weekend so we could live like high rollers for a day.

Pay off bills.
Buy my hubby a car (I don't need to get rid of mine yet)
Buy a house.
Give money to family members and a couple close friends that could use some extra money.
Make husband take some time off so we could travel.

Pay off my car.
Pay off the BF's car.
Buy the BF the Corvette he wants.
Visit the Disney parks in Tokyo, Hong Kong & Paris (and spend a few extra days in Paris).
Buy a MacBook Pro
Buy out the local Sephora
Put the rest in the bank & let it draw interest!

I couldn't fit that all into the title......

First of all I would keep my mouth shut except for my parents, husband, and his parents. If you knew my family you would understand completely

I would buy a house, nothing too huge

Get myself a new car, hubbys is fine

Travel

I dont know about work. My husband and I are far too young to spend the rest of our lives at home, together. May not be good for us. I would assume I would work part time doing something I loved.

I would also have the funds to donate as I wish I could. Not to mention the time to volunteer as much as I would like too. That would be very cool.

If I came into millions, I would first make sure my immediate family was set up and taken care of. My sons would still have to go to college and work but they could choose to work part time.

I would move to CA so I could be closer to Disneyland. I would spend time travelling maybe be able to buy a share of the cruise ship that goes around the world all the time. When I was bored and needed some other form of self fulfillment I could do volunteer work for some charities.

If I came across (or was willed, etc.) a million dollars, this is probably very close to what I'd do:


$100k towards organizations I support/like
$100k+ towards our retirements
Put money towards my niece's college funds
$300k towards the purchase of a house (which wouldn't cost much more)
$100k+ into regular savings
$200k+ towards taking a year or two off (for both of us), to allow us to pursue volunteering, our own businesses, etc.
I'd put some money aside to gift to friends, family, etc. I'd also fix my teeth, and fund some vacations (not fancy). No fancy cars, etc. I'd probably take 50k or so for each of us to do something fun with - I would want to take trips, DH would probably upgrade his computer, buy some fun stuff for home.

Take more vacations. Other than that, save it all.
