TRIP REPORT - Heart Day @ DLR & Lake Arrowhead
We decided to spend Valentine's Day @ Disneyland Resort. We got a later start than usual, but still were quite excited to spend "Heart Day" together. As well, we went to Lake Arrowhead yesterday to let Grant experience SNOW for the first time - so if you have time, check out this double whammy trip report! Thanks in advance! ;)
It's Valentine's Day and Grant's all ready to go! So ready, he couldn't hold still for the camera....

Maybe a tad sickening, but our own "FAMILY" Congress of the Cons.
We got Grant some Converse a couple weeks ago, and then wife and I thought it would be cute if we got them for each other for Valentine's Day..so here it is - matching shoes for all of us! Look at how itty bitty Grant's are! HYSTERICAL.

I believe this is the first time I have ever seen or heard of a man quoting Steel Magnolias.
Re: TRIP REPORT - Heart Day @ DLR & Lake Arrowhead
It's been almost 50 years since I have been up to Lake Arrowhead. We used to go up there in the late 40's and early 50's every summer and spend a week in a rented cabin. It has changed so much since then. It was very open and not as crowded back then. There was only one small concrete bathroom divided for boys and girls. The shower was outside to wash off before going in the lake. There was a nice sandy beach at the one end and some floats and barges out in the lake for swimming too and then resting in the sun. No boats were allowed on the lake back then and no swimming beyond the ropes. The area was clean and pristine and just wonderful to go up to.
In the later 50's the influx of people forced them to allow motor boast and then jet skies and the swimming area got much smaller because of all the power boats. The types of people that came up there had no concern for the area or the people and it got dirty and mangy and lots of drunks on the beach, so we just stopped going up there anymore. It looks like that has been taken care of now, or it's just to cold up there for the summer crowds right now.
