Onion rings or french fries?

Given the choice..

You would choose?

A) Onion rings
B) French fries
C) Depends on the main course
D) No way, neither.

My pick is Onion rings.

Frings always worked well when Jack in the box still sold them

Love both. I end up eating fries when I am out though. Oh sweet potato fries trump them all.

Fries. Mostly Arby's curly fries. Those are the best.

Re: Onion rings or french fries?

Depends on who's making the onion rings. If I know the place makes lousy onion rings, then I'll get fries.

I'm so with you on the sweet potato fries, KK! LOVE those!

Re: Onion rings or french fries?

Depends on where they're from.

I loved the onion rings at a cafeteria-style restaurant that used to be up north, Mr Fables. The ones from Johnny Rockets are really good... especially with the ranch dressing they bring to dip them in.

Fries... I love the "fat" fries at Fatburger. But my all-time fave are the waffle fries from Chick-Fil-A. They give me the warm fuzzies. McDonald's still has good fries if they're cooked properly (nice and golden brown). Wendy's has pretty decent fries too if you get them when they're nice & hot. I miss the fries from Hot N Now. Those were awesome.

Re: Onion rings or french fries?

Overall I prefer onion rings, even though I don't order them that often. I like them a certain way and if they're prepared that certain way, I'll order them. It's rare when I find them that way though.

I love waffle fries - especially from Chick-Fil-A.

The fries at Five Guys are fan-tastic (as if their burgers aren't fantastic enough)! They remind me of boardwalk fries. They're fried in peanut oil and they serve vinegar at the condiment bar. That's a very rare thing to find here in the south - vinegar for your fries. Yummy!

My next favorite fries of all time are the cheddar salted fries from Milo's. I've actually traveled to a different state *just* to get those. (well, almost "just" )
