Since this seems to be the day for sharing good employment news, I thought I'd share some of my own.
I will be going back to work on a part-time basis March 31, after nearly three years away from the radio business because of illness and depression.
I've been hired part-time by the local station in Ventura where I worked until 2002. It's an off-the-air job, hourly, running the control board during many broadcasts of the Dodger Radio Network, and some light commercial production as well. About 20-25 hours a week, with getting back on the air my goal further down the line.
As the author says, "Life Begins on (Baseball's) Opening Day."
I can't tell you how good it's felt to get back in a studio once again.
One step at a time, one day at a time.
