I went into my one day a week job and remembered that last week one of the guys in the Billing section told me had found a Disneyland Jacket at a Thrift Store and wanted me to see it. He said it is some kind of Disneyland Railroad Jacket and if I was interested in seeing it, if I would be there today he would bring it in. I said sure I would love to see it. So I go in this morning and he has the jacket. He had me try it on and when it fit he said "It's yours, I got it for you". These people are so amazing sometimes. Today was a good day to go to work.
I have never seen this jacket at Disneyland, have no idea how old it is, but it is a beautiful Levi type Jacket. There is an embroidered patch above the pocket on the left front. Here is a closeup shot of the Patch:
On the back is a combination of Print, Thick Ink for a sculpted look and Embroidery for the main lettering at the bottom and the tiny Mickey Silhouette at the top. I noticed that the picture portion is almost like the poster for the attraction, but the train is named in the lettering, The Ernest S. Marsh. This makes me wonder if this was some special jacket for something going on at Disneyland for this train. Here is the back of the Jacket and the picture portion takes up a good deal of the back of the Jacket. The Patch above is about 2 inches around but the photos make them look the same size.
Does anyone know anything about this jacket? Was it sold at the Park at some point or is it something special. I am just curious and will wear it to a meet when I get the chance to come down again. The tag inside does say Disneyland on it.
