I saw that movie when I was a kid (a double feature with Charlotte's Web) and for the longest time after that I would imagine they would be peeking out at me from inside my closet or running down the hallway.

Those things creeped me out! I'm nearing 40 and I'm still not thrilled by them!
I can picture the Family Guy's version of Oompa Loompas running scurrying around now. Thanks!

I was freaked by clowns until I worked with one. He would tell me the CRAZIEST stories about his clown days. Like going out in full clown makeup after work to places where it would be weird to see a clown... places where single$ are needed. Now... dude I laugh because they have twisted sense of humors.

Aquatic animals. I even became a certified diver in hopes that the various dives required for certification would help me overcome my fear, but no such luck. I still get a little nervous everytime I go in the water especially here along the coast where the water is cloudy.

Thunder/Lightning, ticks, fleas, any other parasites that are bad, being buried alive, insanely crazy rides at the fair and deep water where I can clearly see the bottom, especially in man made bodies of water like a pool.

I am in alignment with Alfred Hitchcock on this one. The Authorities.

They can come in the night and take you away and make it so you are never seen again, and since they make the rules they cannot be questioned about it.

Re: What are you afraid of...

Aliens -- I've been afraid of them ever since I was a little kid. My parents watched Fire in the Sky when I was younger and I rememebr crying and begging them to turn it off, but they sent me to my room instead. Yeah.. I don't do aliens AT ALL.

Ghost/Evil spirit stuff -- movies such as They, The Ring any thing that I don't know how to kill. Zombies? Easy -- you have to seperate the ehad from the body. Wearwolves? Pretty simple -- death by silver object/bullet. Vampires? Too easy -- Steak through the heart or daylight.
How do you kill an alien? How do you kill ghosts? See... that's what scares me.

Spiders -- Especially big, black ones. Anything with legs longer than it's body is DEFINITLY dead. Any spider in the house, too.

Bees/wasps of any kind -- Now, I love bee art. Any little drawing of a bee or hive is just darling to me. The real thing... NO WAY. Those suckers can fly. They can swarm and they can hurt me! They camakazi you! They will die just to put a hole in your body! Eff that!

Drowning -- I like to swim, but I freak out if I'm under water too long. Movies where people are drowning make me use my inhaler. Ugh.

The dark -- now this is where any of the above (except drowning?) can attack me. I, seriously, have expected thing to sneak into my room while I'm sleeping. Seriously. I slept with ym head under the covers until I was 13. Somenights I still have to position the covers so that I can't see the bedroom door and I jump onto the bed (at night only) becasue I'm afraid that a hand is going to grab me, a la The Sixth Sense. Seriously.

That's it.

Some guy walks up to her, grabs her by the arm and looks her right in the eye and says, "I hate f#$%ing clowns." He then proceeds to let her go and walk away, got in his car and left. Maybe you had to be there, but we were all in shock that he would actually do this.

Clowns

Lightening(even though I really have no reason to be. II think just the sudden flash of light makes me nervous)

Snakes(this is a DEEP DEEP CRAZY FEAR. I can't even look at a picture of one, so please don't post one either as a joke. I was chased around a friends house, and about 1/2 a block to my house at the age of 8 by her sister who was holding a snake)

Earthquakes

Frogs/reptiles- they really just gross me out, but I get that creepy crawly feeling when I see one. Especially frogs. I don't like their long legs...eww

Bees, I was allergic as a child and I still run away from them

There are also other flying things:
Butterflies, humming birds, etc. really anything that flies that isnt a normal housefly.

Fire, I used to have nightmares about it. I would rather sit through a million earthquakes, etc than deal with a housefire.

My biggest fear is something happening to my kids. I tend to be over protective, but I am working on that!

Bridges, they freak me out, ever since I was a little kid and got into an accident on the Dumbarton Bridge.

Fire, or I should say being trapped in one

Wasps/scorpions/spiders

Sharks... who knows why. I will watch Jaws, but not Deep Blue Sea, and Open Water's poster gave me nightmares...

Black Widows... was bit when I was 4.

Dentists... my bro wiggled in the chair next to mine and got a little hurt and started screaming when we were both in elentary school... I have to take a certain stuffed animal, and I sot in the chair and my shoulders are up to my chin and I cry cause I'm scared it will hurt. Does not help I am hard to numb because my heart is beating so rapidly

Zombies... I used to kill off people I love in my sleep, now zombies attack me. And what the heck is up with that? There is no such thing as zombies, they were completely made up in the horror genre (thanks, Romero!) I was fine with zombie movies until I saw Dawn of the Dead.
That zombie baby scared the heck out of me. *shivers*
I have nightmares about zombies ever since I all three of the Residence Evil movies. I'll all freaked out about them and never would have been if I hadn't seen the movies.

I also have a thing about falling down stairs, so that was a two-fer for me!
I'm can't be a the middle of large groups of people in general. I also have a problems on planes especially in the middle seat. It's the loss of control that freaks me out.

OK, this one is probably going to sound weird, but...

Being Intubated. It's happened twice, and one of the times, I literally ripped a rail right off the hospital bed trying to get to the tube and get it out of me. It's just a total sense of uncontrollable panic. Now, whenever I go into the hospital, that's one of the things I have to warn them about.
