I have a job opportunity that I have recently learned about that sounds kind of cool. I met today with the hiring supervisor and she was really cool, and the work seems interesting, and definitely different then what I am used to. In addition, it pays around $5,000 more a year, there is lots of travel (which I like), and it seems like a fun change. It looks like a go, and the hiring supervisor said she would hire me on the spot after our informal interview, we just need to go through HR.
I am pretty sure I want to take this step, but I am a little scared to leave where I have been for eight years. The new job is a cubicle, as opposed to my nice office, but I can also work from home, alternative schedules, etc. I would lose a ton of sick time; my vacation time would be paid to me.
Have you guys changed jobs? Was it hard for you? Anything I should be considering that I haven't? I am not sure why this is so hard, but I have been here a while, and know everyone, etc.
