You miss out if you've never been to DL (the original!).

You miss out if you never do gardening.

You miss out if you've never owned a pet.

You miss out if you never express your feelings to your loved ones, while they are still around to hear it.

You miss out if you don't listen to the wishes of a dying loved one...and, abide by them.

You miss out if you don't try to travel...even to neighboring states, to see what they are all about.

You miss out if you don't see a musical on stage.

I've never been camping either. I don't do dirt. And I have not missed out.

You miss out if you don't remember that life is short and that you should make each day count.

Camping is weird. I love it, but I like weird parts of it. It teaches you that you rely waaaay too much on modern conviences and you think back to how people used to live. Especially if you are in a place where you don't get phone reception. I say try it. Even if you just set up a tent in your backyard.

-You will miss out if you have never totally messed up cooking wise. Sure it's great when you make something yummy and it's perfect, but it's fun to mess up and mess up big. You learn from that.

I love camping too! I'd rather camp than stay at an uber-fancy hotel most of the time. (no Ritz for me

I've messed up cooking, though usually it involves setting off the smoke alarm. Fortunately, I haven't done that in months! I prefer to have yummy and perfect.

You miss out if you spend your days griping about your life. Life is short. Live in the moment

You miss out if you never eat In N out burger

You miss out if you never take the time to do random acts of kindness

You miss out if you fail to appreciate people in your life. Again life is too short.

you miss out if you never take a trip across country in a car, with someone you love.

Re: Things that people Miss out on.

First, let me say, cool thread.

I like to travel for both business and pleasure. I've seen and done some amazing things. Things I used to read about when I was a kid. Everywhere I go, however, I am disappointed because I always miss out of something.

When I went to Israel, I missed out on going to Jerusalem for scheduling (and security) reasons.

When I went to Copenhagen, I missed out on going to Tivoli Gardens.

The things I really like are the simple things. I call them 'The Perfect Moments.' Simple, yet different from everyday life.

I am grateful I did not miss out on...

Sipping an Espresso early one morning in Vernazza, Italy while the local fishermen delivered their morning catch to the restaurants and an old woman set up a stand to sell her fresh-picked vegetables - all without a car in sight.

Visiting a Buddhist temple in Malaysia. Something about all that Zen!

Catching a REAL luau in Maui. Ka-Chow! And the Ahi Poke!

Barren Beach, Belize, Belkin Beer, Book (by Bhutto) and Buffett on the pod.

But, if I had to choose one thing...

You miss out if you don't grab life by the balls and not enjoy each moment to the fullest.

Life has balls? But wouldn't that hurt Life a lot and make it go home to its mother and tell on you?

Labs! Chocolate and black labs! Yay!

You miss out on life if you don't drive stick at least once and do it in some place really fun. Some place that makes you feel like you control the universe.

Can't grab too hard. Unless you want to live life 2 octaves higher.
