My version of that is you miss out if you've never watched the 4th of July fireworks over Lake Tahoe (Disney fireworks are great and all, but there's no beating the reflection off the water with the mountains in the background...)

You miss out if you've never stopped by a river with your friends on a hot summer day and jumped in with all your clothes on.

***And this is one thing in every "List before you die books" I own. Granted I'm a knitter so for me it was like "oh sweet I can do this." But I made my first sweater when I could barely purl and my whole tension was off. I started it in September and finished it in June and wore it every day in the summer. It just makes you feel proud and realize what our ancestors did back in the day.
