Yes but can you see a street view of it? I can go to windows.live.local, Yahoo maps, and even Google maps and see an overhead view. But street level view, that's a different story.

Literally a white panel van drives the streets shooting photos directly into the computers. They are no joke just driving around town taking photos as they go.

It's been a bit of a controversy where some people are freaking out about the privacy, etc.

Its more of the approximation methods they use to nail addresses. Some areas have more data then others - leading to the accuracy.

The 3 quarter view of Microsoft is still my favorite. Browse your favorite theme park or foreign country for some fun. MS cleaned up a lot of the local stuff and its accessible just as http://maps.live.com now

Yea, the views on windows.live.local taken from a plane and/or copter are cool. But there's something about street level that has me more fascinated. I'm simply dazzled.

My city isn't on there yet, but I'm loving finding all of my old houses. Our last house in the Valley looks TERRIBLE!!!!

    Thanks O'Nut!

I can actually see my mom! She was outside watering the garden when they drove by and she is just standing out there with the hose.

She is not completly hooked on this! She lives in Citrus Heights, CA and they have almost all of her streets, but I can only see my intersection in Redondo Beach. It looks like they are working city by city.

I was wondering if that would happen to anyone on here. Thank goodness I was not outside that day esp. in my jammies.

haha. maybe. Sucks, though. That's the nearest big city to my hometown. I don't think there's anyway they'd photograph my hometown.

    Oooh, that's cool! And creepy!

Yeah, the overhead views don't do it for me. We have www.portlandmaps.com and you can find out everything you want on every property in town, which is a little stalkerish. I haven't found Zillow to be as accurate. When they did the overhead shot of our old house, it was a Monday. Garbage day. Everyone had their containers out on our street. Not sure how long ago, but it was at least two years, because I had my old car.

This is just plain scary. Mine is definitely there and it looks like it was taken sometime last Fall. WHOOOOO has the time to run around and photograph every house in the US?

here are some pics of the Van and the camera that's mounted to the roof.

There are multiple websites that list he most "intresting" photos from street view.

    A random Top 15
    Tons of galleries
They even capture funny moments in life such as drug deals, people getting arrested, random fighting in the streets, People falling off bikes, and even Girls Gone Wild.

At the El Capitan they have the banner up for Narnia, so it could not be that long ago.

maybe, I saw a couple on the news who was suing this or very upset about it, because form the street view they saw the car had drove up into their drive way showing parts of their backyard. I think the news said you can opt out of having your house on it.

That is very cool. I spent about 2 hours at work looking up things all over the USA. Will definitely make it easier when planning trips so you can look at areas around hotels and such.
