My Neighbor was in an Accident

I was just recently informed that my neighbor was seriously injured in a diving accident at his camp at Hume Lake on Monday, the 16th. From what I heard/read he was diving in a lake, but it was too shallow and he hit the bottom. He has fractured two of his vertebrae. He's in the hospital in Fresno, CA. They have put a halo on his head to try to separate the two vertebrae that have slipped out of alignment (or something to the like). We're not sure if he will make it or not, but if he does, he will be paralyzed from the chest down.

I've been reading up on the website's blog and they update everyday about his status: http://www.wmson.us/connor/index.html

Him and I were actually good friends when his family first moved to the cul de sac, but over time we all just grew apart.

All I ask is that everyone keep him in your prayers/thoughts. Thank you.

Re: My Neighbor was in an Accident

    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Thank you for this post and link to the blog. I am familiar with Hume Lake as I've known many people who have gone to and/or worked at this camp. I am very sorry to hear this and will be adding Conner to my prayer list.

Thank you, NeverNeverland and Wendygirl. Our entire cul de sac is still a bit in shock, but we are constantly thinking/praying for him!

Wow... what an amazing blog... I've never met Connor but just reading about him I can feel what an amazing, courageous young man he is! What a wonderful idea, to create a blog to keep those who can't be there informed has to what is happening. And since the spine is just pinched, and not severed, it has a better shot at possibly making a full recovery. He still has a very long way to go, but it sounds like he is in great hands medically. My thoughts and prayers will be going out to his family as well!

I'm so sorry - I can really feel what you must be feeling, and this is close to home. My grandfather was paralyzed due to a diving accident exactly like this one. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
You don't need me or my ham, cheese, cheese, cheese, tomato, cheese, ham and tomato sandwiches. And cheese.
