What Are Your Independence Day Plans?

What are your Independence Day plans? Anything big? Anything small?

We are going to a lunch pool party for my wife's Grandmother - who turns 78 on July 4...and for her Uncle whose birthday is the next day. After that, we are heading to a park in Anaheim Hills for barbecue dinner, fireworks, etc. We thought about Disneyland.....but we did that once...and it was chaos (so we're going the night before for fireworks).

    So, what are YOUR plans!?

I might stop by the supermarket. Maybe watch some DVDs or get caught up on some blog reading. Not sure yet.

Staying home. My FIL will be joining us since his wife is out of town. I'm thinking of getting some sparklers and poppers (snappers? I dunno what they're called) for childhood's sake.

We'll be BBQing something (I think my FIL mentioned something about lobster too) and I'm sure the men will have a cigar and port. I might do the hookah and a little rum. I'm willing to bet our neighbors will do their own fireworks show so we won't go without.

I plan on getting a lot of knitting done, too, since it's a four day weekend for me. I hope I keep on schedule!

I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

We planned on staying home since fireworks are legal here but the kids want to give up fireworks to go visit their friends so we're heading up north on the 3rd to stay with friends

Mini-golfing (our yearly tradition), making sugar cookies and decorating them with our friend, watching the fireworks at BYU (stadium of fire has Miley Cyrus this year... that sold out in -10 seconds flat) and then spending the rest of the weekend watching movies and sleeping.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I have to work in the morning. However, it is the most American of pasttimes, Baseball. So I'll be at Safeco Field all day. Then I am going to my sister's apartment in Belltown near Seattle Center. I'll be watching all the fireworks from there.

Some of us regulars at my Buzztime Trivia home site are going to have a trivia marathon of sorts. We're all going to get there sometime in the early afternoon and play all day & night. Saturday I plan on lounging by the pool if the weather cooperates.

Our town has a big parade/street fair downtown. We'll probably go to that.

Then we're going to a party at a friend's house that night. He lives across from the Country club and they have the most amazing fireworks.
    Us girls, we're so magical.
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable.
    Hard to resist, so touchable.
    Too good to deny it.
Ain't no big deal, it's innocent.

Sadly, I have to have surgery on the third for my left hand's carpel tunnel. Needless to say, I'll probably be wonderfully sedated on the fourth...and for those hours I am awake, I've stowed several DVDs and a bunch of comic books (turning pages is difficult with only one working hand!)

    Mostly, sleeping.

    Peace out!
