    Re: Imagineering Fans!

Awesome! I love it, and now I understand completely! That is a great idea, and I would love to see it at the WDS or DHS.

And also a very cool shop you mentioned earlier would be a great addition. I've always wanted to find a store in a Disney Park that seels all the DVD's of the old Silly Symphonies and old Walt Disney Cartoons.

This was originally planned for DCA. I created a whole extension of BPB in Timon right behind tower ad bugs land. When Carsland came about I scraped that. Thats where the ToT restaurant would have gone, the steamboat willie ride, and a set of shops, plus two Meet n' Greets. So ive cut out the shops, and trying to relocate the restaurant to the other side of tower. My idea is to replace the Animation building and a couple of the other buildings next to it with this. We already have the shop, Off the Page that could be redone to work with the ride, ad sell the merch I mentioned.

Here is the area without my extension:

What would have had to happen since my entrance was down a backstage road which the parade used to get Sunshine Gate, was to have the parade be rerouted where the bugs land entrance is. Which is why I made the entrance underground in the first place. It would have gone right over that tunnel to connect back to its original entrance. Then there was talks of having no parades enter there, so that didnt become an issue. Now they are talking about it entering in HBP, going down HPB, half way around the new hub, down to carsland, up one side of carsland, around its hub, down the other side of carsland, down and exiting in pier. So parades were no longer my issue. But not that carsland is going there there is no room. There is extra room left, so I will have to wait and see what room is left to see if it will fit in the extra space.

Maybe if I moved the shops to where the show building is, and the show building down where the shops are, it might fit in the extra space.

Wow! I really, really like your ideas!

I agree about moving swapping the show building and shops, and I think it could probably fit with a tight squeeze.

OFF TOPIC: Once the Imagineering Cellar opens at DCA in a week or two, we'll all know a lot more, and can "Imagineer" accordingly.

    What If......

What if Disneyland created an attraction using some of those ride able robotic arms, they're pretty cool at legoland and I can see great potential with them if Disney were to do something with them, they're small enough that they could probably dedicate the upstairs section of innoventions with a large set of them. Or perhaps make them mobile and use them on the People Mover Track.. Ooh the possibilities! 0.o

    Re: Imagineering Fans!

I haven't visited this thread in a loooooooong time. Man, SparkyLD, those ideas are awesome. I'm in love with the HTH restaurant.... the way I was imagining it, would there be an elevator in the middle of the restaurant, the one that crashed...? Or did it disapear into the Twilight Zone? idk... lol. The Steamboat Willie attraction seems cool, too. Maybe you could use the Disneyland Winnie the Pooh vehicle technology to make it seem like it was flying through the air, such as the Pooh honeycombs "float on the water".

Not to shoot down any ideas, but I don't think that it would work to do it on the PM track cause it goes through lots of tunnels, and a robotic arm just wouldn't fit.

I'm working on an idea for the PM track and I'll post it when I have more details

Unfortunately, Universal has exclusive rights to the Kuka arm technology. According to a story at jimhillmedia.com, no new Kuka arms will be available to Disney until at least 2017.

I hope some other company can develop similar technology and collaborate with Disney.

WDI will probably come up with something of their own, if they need anything like that - bigger, better, faster, stronger,...!

Doesn't legoland have one of those robotic arm rides though?

    Re: Imagineering Fans!

Oh I'm going to have to return to this thread often! Great ideas in here so far. I'm going to have to read through them in more detail when I have some more time, and maybe post a few I've been playing with for a while.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
