    The Love Guru

I was warned! Oh how I was warned! Did I heed those warnings? Nay, nay and thrice nay! And oh how I now regret it!
I love Austin Powers but this movie is a steaming pile of elephant droppings. Three gags were actually funny but I was so battered by the unfunniness of everything else that I had no energy to even smile.
Note to Mike Myers: go away and get some new schtick. Then come back and make another Powers movie.
    Avoid like the plague!

The Day the Earth Stood Still - A buddy wanted to go see this so we humored him. I had low expectations. After watching about ten minutes of it, I shifted my expectations into B-movie mode and it became a painless diversion, even entertaining. My buddy agreed it was nothing deep, but the third guy in our party only showed up because he'd enjoy the company and lunch afterwards. Time to go find the original now and see why it's so revered.

The Dark Knight- Watching the film for a third time. I still love the movie, but I didn't like the ending. It became of of my favorite superhero type of movies. I think some parts of the movie should have been taken out to make the film more shorter. But that's just me after watching it a thrid time. Some parts didn't really belong in the movie. I got sick of that person who made the demand of $10 million a year for the rest of his life. Whan a moron.

Australia -- Coming from someone who's favorite movie is Gone With the wind, that felt like it was NEVER going to end. I mean it was ok, not great not awful, but it was SOOOOO LONG!

I will admit, Hugh in the wranglers was a very good pay off...not to mention that hammed up "washing in the bush" scene...I say to Tassie, if 10% of Australian men look like that, sign me up!

    I watched:

X-Files: I want to Believe: Good. This is the 2nd time I saw it. Thought it was better the 2nd time around.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Mr Tumnus goes Postal: What I meant to say is, I watched Wanted. Some of the humour in there reminded me of Shoot'em Up.

Just watched Little Shop of Horrors for the first time. It's one of my dad's favorite movies and he's said a few times I should see it. I really dug it, great songs, good comedy and some really nice effects. I loved the scene between Steve Martin and Bill Murray in the dentist office, hilarious.

You think bill was good, look up the old OLD version with Jack Nicholson as the crazy guy. Half of what bill is doing he got off of Jack.

I just saw this last year and i was floored too, Audrey 2 looks AMAZING thanks to Jim Henson's people.

Scooby Doo - I meant to watch just a little bit while eating dinner before moving on to Christmas errands, but ended up seeing it all the way through. A mindless, colorful 90 minutes of fluff - turns out that's just what I needed. Now, back to doing Christmas cards.

While reading about the movie on Wikipedia I saw that Nicholson was in the original, I'll definitely check it out if Netflix has it.

Personally, I wouldn't bother. Nicholson is good but the movie is very difficult to sit through if you have already seen the musical version. So-bad-its-good? No, just bad.

Madagascar 2 - Much better than the first. I thoroughly enjoyed it although Melman and Gloria continue to be irritating and uninteresting characters. King Julian should get his own movie!

Office Space- It didn't really make me laugh until about half-way through. My Mom likes this movie, so I decided to watch it, and I was kind of disappointed by it- maybe it's just not my kind of movie.

You have to have worked in an office environment in the mid to late 90's to appreciate the awesomeness that is that movie. If you had, you'd be rolling on the floor like the rest of us.
