Movie question - trying to find the title of a long ago movie.

My husband wanted me to ask the MiceChatters here about a movie he remembers watching as a kid. He was born in 1962 and remembers watching this movie on TV. The movie was black and white and involved a group of kids, maybe Boy Scouts, who travel back in time during the dinosaurs. In one scene there is a fight between a T-Tex and a Tri-ceratops. The boys then climbed all over the dead ceretops.

That's all he can remember. I asked him if it was that TV show from the 70s called Land of the Lost. But he said no, it was definitly a movie. Now he grew up in Chicago and watched this on WGN, so maybe it might be a local thing.

Does any of this sound familure to anyone? Thanks.

No. That movie came out in the 80s and was in color. He is looking for one from the 50s or 60s and was in black and white. Thanks anyway.

This kind of sounds like "Lord of the Flies," but I don't think it had any dinosaurs in it.

Maybe one of the Lost World movies?

Not the Jurassic Park sequel, there was one made in 1925 and another in the 60s.
    What an idiot....

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I'll have my husband look over those links. We just got back from a long weekend in Chicago, otherwise I would have responded earlier.

When he finds the movie, I'll let you all know. You guys are great!

What you are remembering is called "Journey to the Beginning of Time".

    more here: http://www.kiddiematinee.com/j-jbtime.html

    which contains this:

Awhile back, Kevin Butler sent us this fascinating information about JOURNEY TO THE BEGINNING OF TIME on US television:

"The film was indeed shown in serialzied form on TV. One such example is Chicago-based WGN TV's kids series, Garfield Goose & Friends, hosted by Frazier Thomas. Thomas' 'Prime Minister' character would screen episodes of the film every day on 'The Little Theater Screen' inside of King Garfield Goose' palace, to the wonderment of his young viewers. The screening of this film in serialized form was prasied by viewers in 'The Windy City,' a fact which Mr.Thomas mentioned in a Chicago radio interview prior to his death in 1985."
and here is a page where you can get a DVD of the whole thing: http://www.toontracker.com/video/dvd122.htm

    You can thank me later.

    I bow down to you.
