Let Us Raise A Glass of Milk to Engineer Bill, Passed Away today

Just heard on KCAL 9 News at 2 that Bill Stulla, better known as children's TV show host Engineer Bill, passed away at the age of 97.

I grew up with Engineer Bill and Sheriff John. If was not for Engineer Bill and his milk game of red light/green light, I don't know what my poor mother would have done. I did not like milk. I would not drink it. But then along came Engineer Bill and I would drink it for him when that show was on.

97 years old. A good, long life. Rest in Peace.

Wow, I didn't know that he had passed on. Another of Live TV's pioneers gone. It was a simple but fun show with cartoons and the model trains. Anyone with a love of HO gauge trains loved this show. Red Light, Green Light. What a great way to make kids drink their milk, just like my sister said. This show was back in the 1950's so I have a feeling that a lot of folks here are not old enough to remember this show or Engineer Bill as it was a local show on KHJ Channel 9. I used to come home from school also at lunch time to watch Sheriff John. So many happy childhood memories are going away.

RIP Engineer Bill, you are home with your friends now playing with your trains and getting everyone to drink there milk.

I've still got my "Red Light/Green Light" glasses packed away somewhere. May have to dig them out and toast the memory of Engineer Bill.

He must have been an LA guy. I don't know him. And even Engineer Bill would not have been able to get me to drink milk.

Yes, he was local on Channel 9. I never knew he did anything with Walt or Disneyland. What a lucky kid to get his photo taken with Walt and Engineer Bill, and 10,000 pennies.
