It's not really so much a re-release as it is just a way to get the trilogies and prequels together. Doesn't look like there's anything new features on the DVDs.

I like the fact they are all together. But the six disc one with the mask and lightsaber sounds awesome. lol
When hinges creek in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, Whenever candlelights flicker, where the air is deathly still, That is the time when ghosts are present practicing their terror with ghoulish delight.

I'll definitely be letting this one pass me by. I'm pretty sure that Mr Lucas has enough of my money.

    Re: Star Wars DVD re-release

something I would like to see done with return of the jedi is expanding the ending sequence: I like what lucas did with the ending to where coruscant, bespin, naboo, and (i guess) tattooine, and the new celebration music. It gives you a better perspective(although short) as to the mind set of the former republic and how far reaching the results of the empire were, but it should be a little longer, and other scenes put in of celebrations on other worlds(like botha, sullust, geonosis, etc.). according to the pc game empire at war there are 55 star systems, why not show them and the celebrations that are going on? the emotion would be seen in a more realistic view: bittersweet, all of the worlds that used to be in the republic, lost their freedom(s) to the empire, and now winning their freedom back and the eventual return of the republic, in addition to what everyone must be feeling: sadness for the loved ones and friends they lost, excitement and joy due to the fact that the empire is gone and they won, worry and concern for the future, basically a " now what?" feeling

somebody needs to remind lucas that he promised us 3 trilogies (4-6 were produced first, we recently saw 1-3, well where is 7-9 and are they going to be prequels? inbetweens(prequels and sequels and or intertwined story patches(between 1+2, 2+3,3+4, )

All I need is Episode I on DVD and I'm all set. I keep forgetting to pick it up when I go to Best Buy.

Erm... I don't think he did. Lucas recently poo-pooed the idea of eps 7-9 because he pointed out that the six fims are the the rise and fall of Darth Vader. Since he died at the end of ep6 (sorry for the spoiler!) that kinda rules out any more.

Yes, Lucas is a greedy bugger but there are people out there who will buy these so who can blame him? They wouldn't supply 'em if people didn't demand 'em!

I'll just wait until they inevitably come out on Blu-Ray. Then I continue to contribute to the Lucas legacy fund.

    Re: Star Wars DVD re-release

I'm done spending money on films I already own (I don't care if they are in Hi Def, Blue Ray, Black ray, Disc, Cube, Download, 3-D, Smell-O Vision or what ever). Hey I've got a novel idea, create new interesting films that we haven't seen yet and purchased a half dozen times?

    Are you listening George?
    Are you listening Disney?

You've done pumped this well dry.

    Re: Star Wars DVD re-release

I may buy the original trilogy since I don't already have it on DVD, and I've been waiting for a set that contains the unedited originals since buying them individually is pricier.

    Re: Star Wars DVD re-release

Doesn't look like anything new or fantastic. I'll pass on this one, already have all 6 the way I want for now. Probably if I buy any again it'll be Blu Ray.

Though I wish I would've known the prequels were coming on a box set soon, and I wouldn't've bought them individually a couple years ago.
