    Bill Nye

Most commonly referred to as Bill Nye The Science Guy, and also had his own television show with the same title. Anyone remember it? I loved it, and watched it all the time. Wish they'd bring it back.

I LOVE Bill! My younger sister had a computer game by him that I would always play.

Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
    Marge: Pink.
    Homer: D'oh!
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"

What about Mr. Wizard on Nickelodeon? OK, so he wasn't the sexiest guy... ever.

Mr. Wizard was great. I remember watching him on Nickelodeon after school. Discovery Science channel will have reruns of Mr. Wizard on sometimes. Some of them in black and white.

I used to love Bill Nye and I was flipping around the channels and discovered his new show, Eyes of Nye. Check it out if you get a chance, it's fun.

    Re: Bill Nye

He used to be an engineer at Sundstrand in Redmond Washington. He tried out and got a part as a regular on "Almost Live", a Seattle show that came on every week before "Saturday Night Live", from around 1990 - 1996. One of his regular characters was "Speed Walker" - a superhero who adhered to the rules of speed walking.

He quit "Almost Live" once he got things going with his own show.

He was a real character and a genuinely nice guy.
