I wish i had known these were coming on. I love watching old disney movies and i have a few of those movies already but it would have been great to get the rest. I still want to get the cat from outer space and bedknobs and broomsticks. I have a few others that most don't watch i have the ugly dachshund and that darn cat and the moon spinners and cheetah. Are they going to do this again in the near future?
Not necessarily marathons but every once and a while TCM will show a Disney film. The Absent Minded Professor will be on sometime in January again. You can check tcm.com and their schedules to see when a film might play next.
I like The Happiest Millionaire. What's wrong with that?
Not only did I record the "The Age of Believing" documentary onto DVD, I've spent about 5 hours working making an awesome-looking label for the DVD, as well as a full-sized case for it. When I'm done, it should look like I've bought the DVD from a store. I'll post a pic of the finished product.
It was a great line up, I pretty much Tivo'd every film I'd never watched before plus the documentary, and I finally finished watching everything this week. A lot of the films have not aged well, but they were still fun for the nostalgia. Other films have held up with the changing times and were very effective. The documentary was a bit general as they are trying to cover several decades in an hour twenty, but still a lot of fun, and as merlinjones said it nice to see these films getting proper respect. I wanted to hear a bit more about the period of time after Walt's death, but hey it's fun to hear Kurt Russell's response to "what would Walt do," "um, guys, Walt was constantly changing!" It was also fun to see clips from films like Darby O'Gill or In Search of Castaways which I've yet to see and were not part of the TCM line up.
