'Twilight' takes bite out of box office
Teen vampire romance pic drains competition

Fangirls of all ages scored their biggest box office victory yet as Summit Entertainment's teen vampire romance "Twilight"opened to an estimated $70.6 million from 3,419 screens at the domestic box office.
"Twilight" took a big bite out of Disney's 3-D toon "Bolt," which opened to an estimated $27 million from 3,651 playdates, of which more than 900 runs were 3-D. "Bolt" virtually tied for No. 2 with James Bond holdover "Quantum of Solace," which grossed an estimated $27.4 million for a cume of $109.5 million in its first 10 days, according to Rentrak.'Twilight' takes bite out of box office - Entertainment News, Film News, Media - VarietyIt wasn't just "Bolt" that got dinged by "Twilight."
"Quantum" declined a steep 59% in its second frame, while previous Bond installment Casino Royale" dropped far less in its second outing.
