    Guccione & Disney

    From USA Today - Sept. 9, 2005:
"Bob Guccione Jr, founder of Spin and Gear magazines, and a group of investors agreed to buy Burbank-based Walt Disney Co.'s Discover science magazine for an undisclosed price."

Analysis: Is Iger dumping non-performing assets? Is this good for stockholders?
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

Well, we know that the weekest link in Disney's current arsenel is publishing... The movement to "prune" off the publishing aspect of TWDC started with Disney Magazine...

I think we are seeing a continued trend toward devaluation of the printed media... This has been going on for some time...

Which I think sends a bad message to Kids... Watch TV, play video games... But for pete's sake, don't read!
