I chose "Night at the Museum 2" and "Up".

NatM 2 becase I've grown to love Amy Adams. And Up becasue...well it's Pixar. Enough said.

I'm also sure to check out Harry Potter this Summer as well.

I didn't vote as I'll probably be seeing all of them. There is one that is not on the list and that's Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen's follow-up to Borat.

Didn't know he was coming out with another, and I don't really care for that nut. Even though he's married to one of the hottest red heads on the planet.

Re: 2009 Summer Blockbusters - Which One Are You Looking Forward To?

    I only voted for Up.

However, I will either see or be dragged to see Star Trek, Terminator Salvation (to be honest, I'm looking forward more to the SFMM coaster), Transformers ROTF, GI Joe.

I am a huge Star Wars fan, not much of a Star Trek one. The problem is that the same is true of JJ Abrams. I read an LA Times interview with him recently where he said he would be bringing more of an SW sensibility to the film which does not really bode well for the cerebral themes and sociopolitical commentary that the Star Trek tv series are known for.

As a fan of the Transformers and GI Joe franchises (and with the toy collection to back up that claim), I'm hoping for the best with those films but am not expecting very much. The first TF film to me was like DCA to many of you. Or better yet the newly reopened IASW!

I still wish they would come up with a Boomerang Sci Fi for Cartoon Network. Show the Transformers G1 series as well as the old GI Joe cartoon, among many other old favorites.

    Star Trek
    Up
    Harry Potter
    (in that order)

If Wolverine and Terminator get decent reviews I might be interested.

I'm pumped up to see the next chapter of transformers and i wanna see if they did justice to GI JOE..yeah im a girl..but as an 80's kid..i wanna see if they stayed true to the original concept (IMO). Cant wait for ben stiller and company to bring us more laughs.

Where is the "I'm not excited about any of them" choice?

Re: 2009 Summer Blockbusters - Which One Are You Looking Forward To?

    Most looking forward to "UP"

and coming in at a distance for 2nd place,

"Land of the Lost" because I really liked the original series in the 70's,
but it's tempered a bit because Wil Ferrel's movies are really hit and miss with me,
and I'm not a big fan of his, except for Elf.

and tying for 2nd is "Night at the Museum - 2", I enjoyed the 1st one, to see it once. But not worth seeing it a 2nd time, nor getting it on dvd. It just isn't a movie that cries out for a sequel. Maybe the script will be ok, I just don't have too high of hopes for it.

I really do want to hear some reviews about both those movies in 2nd place, before I decide whether or not they are worth my time.

Re: 2009 Summer Blockbusters - Which One Are You Looking Forward To?

Wolverine showd a lot of promise when Hugh made his impromtu plug for it at Comic Con last year.

Harry Potter and Transformers are given must see movies for me

As is Terminator, looking forward to that one.
There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.

I voted for Up, Harry Potter, Transformers, X Men and Night at the Museum. I will say I am looking forward to Harry Potter the most, on the Harry Potter site I post on people are all geeking out about it.
