Just south of the Siberian border in China, lies one of the countries hidden treasures. Every winter the town of Harbin turns itself into a winter wonderland with its annual ice festival, making it one of China's biggest winter tourist attractions.
For decades tourists would walk around the Harbin gardens, marveling at ice sculptures of many of China's more familiar landmarks... until this year. This year something new happened. This year the landmarks started disappearing and in thier place appeared Mickey and a few of his friends.
So what happened? Why the sudden change? Is this a infringement of copyrighted Disney characters? The answer surprisingly is.. no.
