Too Early to tell..
But I HATE them showing up on Broadway! Every Big show now needs a Celebrity! The one nice thing about broadway is that it was talent that got you there, unlike Hollywood. I guess those days are gone.

A lot of TV these days is better than most movies - I don't think TV is seen as such a "poor cousin" of the movies by the industry. Heck, it even saved some careers (Step forward Kiefer...)
The only thing I don't like is when there's over-the-top stunt casting...
*cough, Will and Grace, cough*
"I'm gettin' kind of fond of you, kid.Not that I want to pick out curtains or anything."
Melanie Griffith is a regular on the WB show Twins. I didn't watch for her though. I was watching for Sara Gilbert (Roseanne) and Molly Stanton (Passions). I was shock to see Melanie Griffith in the credits though.
If they do a good job on the show, then I could care less if they are a movie star, a tv star or a star from space.![]()

Acting is acting. Some are better in different venues, but ti all comes down to going where they are willing to hire you. Some choose Tv for the opportunity to take on a challenge and some because it's a better schedule for their families. I agree that if they are cast for what they can bring to the show, it can be really great, but the stunt casting of guests needs to be kept to a minimum. I remember during the first couple seasons of Will & Grace (when I still watched regularly), those appearances were only every once in a while, but eventually it seemed like the had a big guest for every single ep (sometimes more than one). That is a bit much. ER has always done a decent job with guest stars though.
Will & Grace is tooooo much. I stopped watching because of it, actually.
I loved Brad Pitt on Friends. Remains one of my favorite episodes. I know it was done for November sweeps at the time, but it was done hilariously!
Other than that....doesn't make or break an actor for me. Sometimes I feel they do a juicy little episode just to win an Emmy (Ray Liotta, I'm talking to YOU!) and that bugs me.
Mostly, I like seeing Broadway folks on TV or movies.....like Kristin Chenowith. That makes me happy.
But the thought of Rosie O'Donnell in The Fiddler on the Roof makes me want to commit suicide.....I'll admit that.Ack.
