Disney Store and Earth Day

Stopped by the Disney Store today and saw they have a line of Earth day merchandise, and anyone who brings in 3 plastic bottles to the Disney Store on April 22 (this Wednesday) recieves a free gift! They have some cute stuff there for Earth day and I think that is a great idea for Disney to try doing something like this. Sure is nice to see something in the store other cheap toys. I'm actually really curious to see what the free gift will be...guess I will bring in some of my bottles.

I am thinking the free gift will be the reuseable tote . I am so excited I just hope they don't run out... I won't be able to get to one until about 4 p.m.

LOL probably will be the tote (I could use one of those anyways) or maybe a special pin, but that is okay I still do it.

- Recycling is Magic: Plastic Bottle Recycling Campaign (April 22, Earth Day)</SPAN>: According to the Web site Earth911.com, “In 2006, Americans drank about 167 bottles of water each but only recycled an average of 23 percent. That leaves 38 billion water bottles in landfills.” On April 22, 2009, Disney Store locations nationwide will host a plastic bottle recycling program called “Recycling is Magic.” To help educate children on the benefits of recycling, Disney Store is inviting everyone to bring in empty plastic bottles and toss them into a unique recycling bin. On April 22, while supplies last, guests can exchange three empty bottles for a free commemorative Earth Day reusable water bottle, an approximate value of $8.50.

It is a green plastic bottle with the Disney Store Earth Day logo on it. I just got one, it didn't seem like they were going to run out, actually I haven't even left the mall yet. I know it is a free gift and all and it is for a good cause, which is the real reason I did it, but...the reusable bag or a pin would have been better. A voucher to the new Disney Earth movie, (printed on recycled paper of course) would have been really nice, but I am not complaining I am just happy they offered something different in the stores.

However I have a hard time believing the quote from above by AliasD that the approximate value is 8.50. These are pretty cheap generic promotional give aways.

Aww, thank you!! I was able to get one -after my husband and I got ours there was one left in the big box and a couple by the registers - I thought we were pretty lucky, but after we left the husband said he saw the box was refilled so I guess there was no issue! They are kinda cute, small which I like.

And hey, we bought a few things on clearence as well as the reusable bag... I couldn't resist! I really want the Mickey hugging the tree shirt.

you can get a free tote bag, if you buy a ticket to the movie Earth online there is a coupon to print and bring into the Disney store.

I got one, but forgot it at the Disney Store I work at. I knew I would forget so I put my name on it. I think that it is pretty cool, especially since all I had to do to get it was bring in three empty water bottles.
