Re: 'A Christmas Carol' - Train Tour

If I'm in town that weekend, I'll make a day of it in Denver, the weekend of June 12th! If anyone wants to join me, please PM me and I'll see what I can arrange. Maybe we can all meet at B'way's light rail and just take the rail into town. Coffee at the Tattered Cover Bookstore as well!

    Who's with me???!!!

    Peace,

^Thanks for putting those up Tim.

I stopped very quickly this morning to say hi to some WD Special Events folks, they've done a very cool job out there. It is a pretty impressive collection, the reactions seemed to be quite positive throughout.

Just a couple of shots from Union Station, one L.A.s great landmarks:

Re: 'A Christmas Carol' - Train Tour

We went to the train event today, and honestly, my opinion was 'eh'. Some of the displays inside the train were interesting, but overall I was disappointed and it definitely did not make me want to see the film. Driving an hour, paying through the nose to park and then waiting an hour in full sun was too much to 'pay' to see a train covered in giant stickers, a few models and maquettes and a whole lot of monitors with bits of video about the making of the film. All of the stuff will make an interesting addition to the eventual DVD, as I'm sure they've planned.

I have a lot of photos, if anyone wants I'll put them up tomorrow.

Re: 'A Christmas Carol' - Train Tour

My daughter and I went today. The line was supposed to be 3 1/2 hours long but turned into 4. Was it worth it? Not really sure. I enjoyed myself - seeing people, watching the entertainment, taking photographs. We did not wait in line at the end to watch the preview in their bounce house movie theater. Will I see the movie now because of this exhibit? - yes, chances are good that I will and that is a change for me. When I first heard Jim Carrey was playing Scrooge, I thought I'd pass. But now that I've seen what they've done, I've changed my mind.

Also, Tony Baxter was there waiting in line just like everyone else. I got a couple of pictures of him and then one with him.

Here are links to my photos on Facebook.

First album - waiting in line.
Second album - in the train.

Thanks for posting your experiences and pics guys! Can't believe you waited in line all that time. Loved the concept art part of it - that's what I'm most looking forward to seeing, as the movie just has a cool new visual feel to it. I wonder if they make any changes or additions to the train as it gets closer to the movie....either way, I'll go see both

Disney has a train tour promo for it's upcoming 2009 holiday movie season.

They have a schedule with all the stops for the year, see if one of the stops is near you!

FYI, the San Francisco tour stop has changed locations.

Previously, it was to be at the Port of Redwood City.

Now it's in Oakland at the Middle Harbor Shoreline Park.

Anyone else stopped by the tour? I've only heard about the LA tour but wondered if they did anything new or different in other cities (besides the long lines, heh). I heard you can make a digital image of yourself as one of the characters. Kinda wanna see myself as Scrooge or perhaps Tiny Tim I can't believe I have to wait until October to see it!
