Yes, and while I don't agree with him - we all have our 'standards' for what we enjoy for a film. It's possible he didn't enjoy Up, but did enjoy Bolt. Or, he might have enjoyed Up, but thought Bolt was better for Disney's target audience. We will never know.

Saw UP today, by far one of the best PIXAR films to date. Probably my number two Pixar film, after Ratatouille.

    Re: Poll: Up vs. Bolt

I haven't seen Up yet (will go see it on Monday), and I just watched Bolt for a 2nd time recently when I unwrapped my DVD. I think Bolt is close in style to The Incredibles.

I didn't like Bolt to begin with so for me there really isn't a comparison.

    Up is a phenomenal movie.

    First off, Pixar is Disney.

Second, Al is entitled to his opinion. And unless he comes in here and defends said opinion then there is no use trying to decide what he really feels.

Knowing Al, and knowing the kind of movie buff he is, it's quite possible that Monorail Man's post is right on. I do have to admit, Bolt was more of a "kiddie" movie than Up, but as somebody with older kids I'm actually okay with movies being good for multiple audiences.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, even if you don't agree with it.

I tried watching Bolt at least a couple of times and I fell asleep both times. The storyline just didn't keep my interest.

UP was great from beginning to end.

    Re: Poll: Up vs. Bolt

For me it's rather simple, while Bolt can be considered the best CGI the Disney studios has done...it's not even close to Pixar's quality of films. To me Up is vastly superior.

As for Al Lutz, he is intitled to his opinion as Sir Clinksalot pointed out. However I will say this, he should pay attention to the poll...since saying a third of the poll agree's with him is a rather foolish thing since in reality the poll doesn't.
Disney and Universal fan for life!...Shocking ain't it?

I'm not crazy, now if you will excuse me I have tea time with the ghosts at Haunted Mansion.

^ I'm sure Al hasn't seen this thread, he's most likely referring to people who have emailed him agreeing with him.

Believe it or not, but there are quite a few people who read MiceAge who aren't on MiceChat.

    Re: Poll: Up vs. Bolt

Not sure why we're even comparing these really (except you know, cause Al made that comment) the two movies have little in common to me at least besides being CGI and released close to each other.
I like them both but in different ways. However, Up has quickly become one of my favorite movies (PIXAR or not) becauce it just seems so much bigger and better than I ever thought it'd be. I don't even know how to explain it really.

I agree that there's really no reason to compare them but if we must, then UP is the way to go :-)

But, only one of these films has Miley Virus in it!!!!

Although an outstanding effort, Bolt remains too formulaic.

I voted for Up as well.

    Re: Poll: Up vs. Bolt

I loved Bolt - The middle dragged on a little bit, but I laughed out loud at Rhino several times.

Up was a great movie. It was what I'd call heartwarming. I laughed, I cried, my kids were absolutely silent and stayed in their seat through the whole movie!!!! (That's usually my indicator on a good movie or not).

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

I feel like Santa Claus told me he hated Jingle Bells.
