RIP Fred Travalena and Gale Storm

Due to the spotlights being pointed in other directions, these two passed on this w/e w/o much fan-fare.

    Us "oldsters" might recall them...

    66 and 87, respectfully.

Travalena was a semi-regular guest/entertainer on the Tonight Show. He was a comedian and did quite a few impersonations of celebrities. Lots of cameo's on TV, too.

Storm had her own TV series in the 50's as well as being a great character actress later on.

    They will be missed...

Heard this very briefly this afternoon but not much coverage on their passings at all, which is a shame.

Growing up in the 50's I loved My Little Margie and the Gale Storm shows.

I remember Fred Travelina, but, not the other one. That's too bad.

I do impersonations (not the amount that Travalena did)..and ALWAYS enjoyed watching and listening to him. He was amazing and will be missed.

I knew who these two were. Is someone massacring stars all of a sudden? Heaven is putting on one heckuva show right now, I'm guessing.

    Peace to them both,

Re: RIP Fred Travalena and Gale Storm

Damn, I'd heard a blurb that they'd both died. Wasn't sure if it was true or not. Guess it is.

I used to love watching Fred Travalena as a guest on Mike Douglas and Dinah Shore and Merv and the other talk shows back in the 70s and early 80s. I had seen some video not long ago of him still doing his act, but I didn't know he was dealing with cancer. Bummer.

    Here's one from way back:

Gale Storm unfortunately was a little before my time. I knew her name and knew she was a big star in the 50s from TV's My Little Margie, but I was not actually very familiar with her film or TV work or any of her albums.

As the Celebrity Universe expands, news of their demise may become more commonplace...?
