Are you saying you don't like A Christmas Carol or It's a Wonderful Life?!? To me, they're two of the best Christmas stories, mainly for the messages that they both bring. IMHO, I think it's pretty cool that Christmas Carol can be re-interpreted and re-told in so many different ways but still be able to maintain that theme of self-redemption. Whether it involves Scrooge is falling/flying through the air in a time-travel story or a musical with Kermit as Bob Cratchit or a Bill Murray comedy, it just doesn't get old. At least, not to me anyway :)Quote:
To me A Christmas Carol has been overplayed so much, it's starting to rival It's A Wonderful Life.
The "comin' at ya!" gag has been so overplayed at this point. I kind of enjoyed seeing the Toy Story movies in 3-D since they weren't created for 3-D and didn't have any of that stuff.
Look how awful this looks:
If they thought UP was going to be a hard sell, this looks even harder.
Glad I'm not the only one completely uninterested by this film. The more I see the less it's exciting me.
Throw me into the "not that impressed by what I have seen" camp. I agree with you CB. When I first saw the trailer with Toy Story, it just looked silly to have Scrooge thrown in the sky, in silhouette like ET, screaming "Bah Humbug" in slow motion.
Not sure if anyone has seen this yet, but it's the Japanese trailer. It really focuses on the story (that we all remember) and is a bit more serious than the other trailers that we've seen so far. Shows a lot of new scenes as well. I think between this trailer and the US one, the movie seems to strike a balance between the more serious, emotional side of the story and the light-hearted, kind of slapstick-y type humor.
You're right! Waaay better trailer for Japan. I'm actually halfway interested now!
Yeah, I really like that trailer - just the whole feel/vibe to it. There are also a bunch of new pics out today that feature the other characters (Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit - YES for Gary Oldman!, etc).
