New teaser poster has surfaced, but was actually first spotted back at 2010 Licensing International Expo last summer.

No surprise, since tonight marks the official teaser debut online over at iTunes Movie Trailers at 4PM PST (7PM EST), and over at Transformers: Dark of the Moon | Official Movie Site | July 2011

    Hours away...

Meantime, the website Collider was able get a behind the scenes post-production visit Transformers: Dark of the Moon. They saw the teaser trailer, and was able to see a "huge chunk of footage" but sadly, they did not reveal any major story points in the articles. Check out the article, it also includes video: Michael Bay Interview TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON Plus Edit Bay Visit and Video Blog

Empire magazine caught up with Michael Bay.
"3D is a whole new animal" - Michael Bay
When Michael Bay invites you over to his place for lunch, you don’t turn him down. Particularly when it’s a chance to hang at his production company, Bay Films and get a look at the first footage from Transformers: Dark of the Moon. And because if you turn him down, he has two massive dogs that could eat you for lunch.

So when Empire is among a select group summoned to a brown office building in Santa Monica and ushered into a screening theatre to watch some exclusive, early footage from the movie, we made sure to keep the appointment. Bay showed off an impressive sizzle reel chock full of explosions, robots, sleek cars, supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looking good and Shia LaBeouf looking pensive (no big change there, then) and then sat down to chat about anything and everything in his inimitable, candid style.

Bay first wanted to address the chatter surrounding his decision to shoot in 3D, which is adding extra workload to his time spent editing Dark of the Moon. “People were going on the Internet, saying we didn't do any 3D and there's all this talk, so we're just trying to set the record straight, you know?” You might think the plan would be to shoot part of the film in 3D and convert what the cameras couldn't handle after the fact. Not the case. No, Bay made sure every frame could be shot using the best 3D camera rigs available.

It's clearly a better choice for him than relying on conversion technology that hasn't proved to be effective in the past, given the nature of schedules and budgets. “Studios are rushing through their 3D. There is a right way to do it and a wrong way. I think, personally. If you want to do proper 3D it's a $30 million price tag. You don't want to admit it, but that's what it really is to do proper 3D. Studios will sometimes do it for $10 million, or $12 million. We spent about seven months or eight months before the movie investigating all the conversion companies. We gave each one some test footage to do and, like Warner Brothers, I kind of knew that the latest Harry Potter would fall apart, that was just because they were working with a company that just didn't have the firepower. This was supposed to come out on the same 3D, conversion system but that obviously didn't work out…”

And just like he demands a lot from his cast and crew, the new format meant a clearly weary (but still enthused) Bay had to push himself alongside them. “It's a whole new animal and that's why I'm so tired, because I've had a portable Avid system installed at every residence. I go home from the edit room and I'll work sometimes until two at night, because I'm trying to jump on this movie like a m**********r. I'm trying to hit it really hard before Christmas so that we can be ahead of the curve. Compared to what our shot count turnover was from the last movie, where we are in terms of cutting time down, we're well ahead. So I'm putting the pressure on myself so that we can really do pristine 3D.”

The first footage from the film will be online later, and we’ll have more from Bay then. Oh, and the dogs? Total sweethearts, even if they are both the size of a small pony…

Technical difficulties? MB.com has crashed (down), and Apple Trailers doesn't have Transformers 3 trailer just yet.

    Re: 'Transformers 3' 7/1/2011

    It's arrived...

Bay does a great job of setting up some suspense and mystery, definitely a better premise. A great intro to the latest installment than things blowing up left and right, and an effective teaser indeed.

So, Apollo 11 was a Sector 7 operation?

For the HD 1080 resolution, go to the official link below
    http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/p...darkofthemoon/
It's been revealed that the robot seen in the teaser is Alphatrion, protector of Cybertron...

Who has been seen in the 2nd generation animated TV series, & beyond.

From a lot movie blogs, sites, and youtube. The reactions have all been same from the critics, and fans, they are digging the premise of this teaser, and are shocked we get no "Bayham." Yes, it may be early, and premature to tell, but I think this could very well be the best of the three, or at least better than the last one for sure.

Did you notice a lot of dead transformers???

Michael Bay Admits Failure on 'Transformers 2'; Says 'Transformers 3' Will End His Franchise.'
If yesterday's trailer gave you 'Transformers' fans out there hope for the potential of 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon,' Michael Bay's latest discussion with the blogging community should help even more. Collider recorded an epically long lunch chat in which Bay apologized for the second film, talked about his attempts to make up for it with film number three and how the addition of 3D changed his cinematic process.

Talking about 'Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen,' Michael Bay explained:

"We tried to learn from the second movie. On the second movie we got burned. We had a writers strike, we had to agree on a story in three weeks, and then we knew they were going on strike. It was a f***ed scenario all the way around; it wasn't fair to the writer; it wasn't fair to me; it wasn't fair to anybody. It was still an entertaining movie, but I think we failed on certain aspects. What we did with this movie is I think we have a much better script, and we got back to basics. ... It's more serious. I got rid of the dorky comedy; I mean we've got two little characters, that's it, but the dorkiness is not there. Dork-free Transformers. It's much more serious. It's still entertaining; it's big looking."

Not only is it supposedly dork-free, but it'll also be a little less manic. Offering up the third chapter in 3D, Bay had to change his dizzying, quick-cut visuals to suit the format, noting that the third dimension "actually changed my style on this movie -- I've got many more wides, the camera's not wild. So it does change my style a bit."

But where is it all headed after an explosive beginning, a writers' strike-plagued middle and a third-dimensional third act? According to Bay, this is it for him and the cast: "I think this has gotta be it. I think someone else will take the torch from here. ... It's just that I don't think you could do it again with Shia [LaBeouf] and everybody, I think it's time to move on."

Did you jump off the 'Transformers' train after the disappointing sequel? Are calm cameras, 3D action, and a little Buzz Aldren (yes, folks -- he's been involved with the production, and will appear in the film) be enough to put your butts in the seats and see what happens on the dark side of the moon?

It's really good that MB is admitting that TF2 sucked, and that he learned from his mistakes to make a better TF3. That is really good news. I have high hopes, especially if the robot in question is in fact Alpha Trion. Watching him face off against Shockwave. WOW! That is going to be an epic battle.

Not dead, just deactivated. The robot closest to the camera looks a lot like Ironhide.

That was a much better apology than Joel Schumacher's apology for Batman and Robin.

What I find amusing is just a few days ago I read some news about a movie going into production called Apollo 18 with sort of the same premise as the trailer.

Any word about Bay's crew filming the much delayed shuttle launch? I read on NASA's website the shuttle won't be going up no earlier than Feb 3.

Back in early October, filming was done at the Launchpad 39B as special helicopters did some stunts around the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

No word if a 1st or 2nd unit will return for the rescheduled launch for February 3, 2011.

NASA scenes were also filmed at the Johnson Space Center in Texas, shooting basically what we saw in the teaser...

Not too long ago, photos of the prototype of the new Megatron toy for Transformers: Dark of the Moon were leaked online, which also means what to expect to see in the live-action form. Remember that Mad Max looking truck?

That's the latest incarnation of Megatron, in the sequel he got pretty beat up, so a new body makes sense.
