Award sends SLC teachers to Disney World

Two Salt Lake City teachers who received the 2004 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching are being sent on an educational trip to Walt Disney World Theme Parks in Florida as a part of the award. Jennifer Buttars, a mathematics teacher at Columbia Elementary School in West Jordan, and Carol Skousen, a third-grade teacher at Twin Peaks Elementary School in Murray will attend the Disney Youth Education Series Thursday through Sunday. The Disney Youth Educational Series involves the participants in educational programs taught by Disney professionals at various locations throughout Walt Disney World. The Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching is sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
