The regular DVD that comes with the bluray has plenty of extras including the bonus shorts, commentary, 22 minute making of.

The Dug Short is cute, but I feel after the BURN-E short, this short didn't really add anything to the movie.

There's also a 22 minute Behind-the-Scene on the Blu-Ray that focuses entirely on their trip to South America and what they found there during pre-production. Is that the 22 minute on the DVD format as well? I haven't checked out that disk yet.

We got the DVD's today from Amazon along with Monsters Inc. Being that it's so close to Christmas, they will be Christmas presents. But ... since we want to watch the movie we rented the Blu Ray from Netflix as well.

Yah it's basically the field trip to South America.

Re: UP DVD Release, DVD Collection, and DVD vs. Blu-Ray

Ironically, I bought the Blu Ray and I don't even have a Blu-Ray player. Sooo...shucks. I guess I'll just have to go out and buy one now. This will officially be our first Blu-Ray movie.

LOVED the behind scenes footage. That's how much a geek i am. Whenever I get the Pixar DVDs, I go right to the behind the scenes footage first before I watch film.

And who knew that Carl was visiting a REAL PLACE?? I walked out of that theater thinking they had invented that waterfall because no waterfall could possibly be that tall without huge mountains above it to feed the river above. And I start watching, and I'm thinking...."What the...???"

The Tepuis are STUNNING. I think one of the animators mentioned that if they drew some of those scenes they would have changed them because the laws of physics wouldn't allow certain rock formations to exist, etc. The whole place looks like such a land crafted in CG. 3000 foot cliffs jutting straight out of the ground. And that waterfall...it was just like in the movie.

    Un freaking believable.

I've been trying to find this out on the boards over at UD. What DVD bonus features are included on the Blu-Ray/DVD combo?

Ok, I found my answer in the UD review:
    Up Blu-ray & DVD Review

and a Blu-ray combo which includes the deluxe DVD and digital copy
Since the Deluxe DVD is included in the combo, I'm going for the combo!

and... don't enter your DMR code in just yet. I know they are tempting you with a bonus 50 points on the Blu/DVD combo, but... a 2nd double points day is coming up sometime before Christmas, so rather than 175 points, you can get 250 points!
