Another non-INDY film for Harrison Ford(merged)

Here's a portion of an interview by Robert Daniel Epstein with producer Lawrence Bender (Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, Kill Bill) :

LB: I'm doing a movie with Harrison Ford called Manhunt and Harrison Ford plays this man who's tracking the guy who assassinated President Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth. So we're supposed to start shooting that next year.

    DRE: Who’s directing that?

LB: An Ecuadorian director named Sebastian Cordero who directed the movie called Crónicas. Myself together with Walden Media decided on him and Harrison approved.

    DRE: Who wrote it?

LB: A guy named Andrew Marlowe is rewriting it as we speak so we’ll see how it goes.

DRE: Is Harrison Ford still one of those top guys that everyone goes to?

LB: Yeah, it’s been pretty great working with Harrison Ford and this is a great role for him. I grew up with Harrison Ford and it has been a lot of fun. He’s a good guy and a very smart actor.

DRE: Is it a lower budgeted movie?

LB: No, I think it’s a regular studio size movie.

DRE: Has Harrison talked about reinventing himself with this?

LB: We haven’t had that discussion. But this movie plays on all his strengths.

    more from Variety
Harrison Ford is getting back in the big screen hunt. According to Daily Variety, Ford, who has been connected to a pending fourth Indiana Jones film for some time now, has signed to star as Civil War hero Col. Everton Conger in Manhunt for Walden Media. Lawrence Bender will produce the film based on the upcoming James L. Swanson novel Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer, which will be published by William Morris this February.

The Rookie's Mike Rich adapted the screenplay for Manhunt, which will focus on the tenuous days after the assassination of President Lincoln in 1865. Col. Everton Conger and the New York Calvary led the search for Lincoln's shooter, and they were eventually led to both John Wilkes Booth, who was hiding out in a Virginia barn 12 after Lincoln's shooting, and a plot that could have sent the nation back into war.

Alex Schwartz, Executive Vice President at Walden, and Jackie Levine, the company's Vice President, will be overseeing the project with Walden's Director of Development Evan Turner.

Ford recently starred the heist pic Firewall, which is in post-production at Warner Bros. Prior to Firewall, Ford has not worked on a feature since 2003's Hollywood Homicide. His other more recent credits include K-19: The Widowmaker, What Lies Beneath and Random Hearts.
