Ewan MacGregor? Really? I see almost everything he's in. Such a great actor.

I'd pay $20 just to watch Ewan brush his teeth.

I also don't agree with Samuel L Jackson being on that list. He's the MAN!

Will Ferrell, Ice Cube, and Eddie Murphy all suck. Who'd want to even give them a dime?

I like 7-10 and recently, I actually came to appreciate Jim Carrey's brilliance.

    Re: Hollywood's Most Overpaid 2009

It's not an arbitrary list people. It's based on how much they were paid for their last several films vs how much money the films actually made. They're overpaid in the sense that they weren't worth the investment the studios made in them financially.

Here's the article that explains it: Forbes.com: The Star Economy - Hollywood's Most Overpaid Stars
Here's an interesting comparison from the article:
For every dollar Ferrell was paid, his films earned an average $3.29. Compare that to Shia LaBeouf, who topped our list of Best Actors for the Buck in August. For every dollar LaBeouf was paid, his films earned an average $160.

^ Although in LaBeouf's case, I'm not sure people were going to see the movie because of him.

    Re: Hollywood's Most Overpaid 2009

An excellent point Clinks, but it still shows the difference between an actor who's films have done well and one who hasn't. Even if Shia isn't the main draw in those films, it still shows smart use of casting dollars. Someone like Will Ferrel gets money thrown at him based on the hope that if they build an entire film around him his name will be enough to bring in the bucks. That has proved to be a bad gamble the last couple of years.

Jim Carrey's brilliance. I'm not sure those words can ever be used together in any realistic way.

3, 6, 7 & 8 on that list are HUGELY overpaid. I avoid movies with those four like they have the swine flu. Except in the case of the DiCRAPio movies which Scorsese directed, which are not that bad.

His first starring role in a non-sequel/franchise film, 'Disturbia' opened at #1 and stayed there for about three weekends in a row. 'Eagle Eye' also opened at #1 with close to $30 million. He can even walk-off some arrests, a major trafffic accident, a horrible hand injury and can apparently open a film.
