You must be pretty young to not know who Eisner is.

He ran the co. (CEO) from 1984 to 2003.

In his first decade .. he did a lot of good for the co.
In the last decade ... he did a lot of BAD for the co.
(Decided it was better to do things - on the cheap - AKA DCA! And MORE.)

And I'm not surprised a cartoon recently lampooned Eisner .. because many came to disrespect him for the damage he did.

In his first decade he approved Splash Mountain
In his last decade decade he approved Superstar Limo

Ha never thought about that.. He really did go downhill.

He was the CEO of The Walt Disney Company from 1984-2005. He had quite an impact on the company.

    It all depends.

    Westcot? Yes.

    Probably his biggest mistake.

Also the "Disney decade" projects like Plectu never took shape.

You'll find Eisner was known for his follies rather than his successes.

    You're welcome.

What I would add is that he is responsible for devaluing the Disney brand by making it ubiquitous. Disney Swag (and stores) were EVERYWHERE. We were so saturated with cheap Disney products that the brand stopped being of value. People were getting sick of Disney everything thanks to Eisner, where once Disney was a much rarer brand and was very favored by consumers.

He is also infamous for putting in place Paul Pressler who hadn't a clue about Disneyland or guests. Paul was on a one way track to remove attractions and replace with stores, line all the walkways with Out Door Vending carts, removed cars, trains, and other ride vehicles because they were too costly to maintain (his opinion) and the reduced ride capacity meant people would spend their time buying stuff rather than on rides. He believed people came to Disneyland primarily to SHOP!

Paul Pressler's record on cutting maintenance beyond safe limits ultimately resulted in an increase of deaths/injuries in the park.

I think the decline in Eisner's ability to know what was going on began with the death of his partner Frank Wells. Together they were an awesome team. Eisner without Wells became like a ship without a rudder, then compass, and finally - a sail. It had become past time to let him go.

    ... Just my opinions

Nope. Not evil - just kept on long past his "sell by" date.

You know what I hated almost more than anything that Eisner did? And that's a big list...

He had himself introducing the episodes (like Walt used to do)on the Wonderful World of Disney, or Magical World of Disney or whatever it was called during his tenure. It just seemed so "hey look at me, I'm Walt Disney version 2.0" It just made me want to go all stabby on him.

Same here, friend. With all of his business savvy and decisions (both good and bad), above all I detested how he was presented in this fashion. Trotting out his mug on TV felt so jaw-droppingly inappropriate that I had to stop watching.

Even at that young age I knew there was only one "Walt".
"The old man's gonna knock on the sky. Listen to the sound."

    AP'er since 2004. Yup.....I'm one of THEM.
