At least Pierce didn't start singing. I too would've prefered James Earl Jones to do the narration like he did for earth. I also would've prefered Patrick Stewart, who narrated the European release of earth. A bunch of years ago I saw the Whales IMAX movie that Patrick narrated and thought his voice was actually a good choice for it. He would've been a good choice for Oceans. The producers must understand though, you never cross Star Wars and Star Trek, it's sacrilege.

It was a good film. Not as engaging as Earth, but strong enough to get its message across without being too preachy.

Did anyone else think they should have played John Denver's Calypso during the almost endless dolphin scenes?

Better yet, they should've played Life on Mars? as performed by Seu Jorge.

I saw it at the El Capitan last night as an early Mother's Day activity. I really liked it. I never thought a nature documentary would make me laugh and get teary eyed. Really well done. Now I want to go back and watch Earth. Are there any snakes in Earth? I'm super ophidiophobic.
