    Disney Domestic Parks Pass Confirmed

I first reported that Disney was considering a Domestic Parks pass back in February in our In The Parks blog. At today's shareholder meeting, they confirmed the pass along with a reasonable $700 price tag:

Disney Chief Executive Officer, Robert Iger, at Disney's annual shareholder meeting in San Antonio, Texas today:
The "Premiere Passport'' will go on sale Thursday and provides access to all U.S. parks with no blackout dates. . . The price will be $700 and will cover the Florida and California locations.
For DVC members and those who love to travel, this will be a great convenience and cost saver. As a long time passholder of both Disneyland and Disney World, I'll be signing up right away.

Here's a nice write-up about the new pass, including an interview with your's truly, from Sarah Tully of the OC Register: http://ocresort.freedomblogging.com/...s-parks/37063/

According to a WDW CM on Sunday, it looks like they will be combining any dual-passholders to this new pass. Plus, you'll keep the later date of the pass.

    Win-Win!

Awesome! Now if I can just get them to throw in the cost of travel into the pass so I can visit DL more often I'd be set. :P

Re: Disney Domestic Parks Pass Confirmed

I'm VERY glad to hear about this pass. I JUST renewed my annual pass at Disneyland last week and have 6 months left on my Disney World pass. I'll be among the first to put the Disneyland ticket CMs to the test when I upgrade my pass on Thursday.

As a Disney Vacation Club member, this pass just makes sense for me!

As a friend of all kinds of timeshare owners, and Florida friends - this pass makes even more sense.

Nice. I've been wanting to go to WDW, now having the option of a dual pass is very tempting for me. I just renewed my AP with DLR last month, I'm glad their is an upgrade option.

Only 700 dollars. Wow, I was expecting it to be in the thousand dollar price range.

Good deal if you frequently travel between the two resorts.

For only $250 more than a DL Premium Pass, it doesn't even have to be frequent. One trip to WDW per year more than pays for it at the current rates. Throw in the AP discounts for on-site hotels/food/merchandise and it's even more of a value.

    A current 7 day park-hopper for WDW is $572.

I'm going for a week this summer and would be getting the 7 day park hopper, but $250 is much more ideal, and would add into the savings and food/souvenirs. But the question is, will it REALLY be only $250 to upgrade? It seems too good. >.>

Sounds like a good idea if your going to WDW for a week and live in CA and go to DL once a month.

I'd bet this is a big factor.

Disney is all about keeping those hotels full. This really opens up the opportunity for people to stay cross-resort easier... and I think the just slightly higher then WDW price will reallly help DL. So many WDW people are teased with visiting DL cheap now.

I think this has great upside for DL's hotels.

I must say I am quite shocked by the price - its cheeeap. Maybe it is now due to all the pressure to discount.. this is a way to upsell your most dedicated fan base without looking like discounting.

Re: Disney Domestic Parks Pass Confirmed

Four passes for the Orlandoians under the humid sun,
Two for the Californians for their parks near the sea,
Two for Fanatical People doomed to die going between the coasts,
One for the Sea-E-Oh on his dark throne,
In the Land of Dizzknee where Magic lies.
One Pass to see them all, One Pass to attend them,
One Pass to bring them all and with the magic bind them
