We all know the deal for Fox Family (now ABC Family) wasn't the best deal ever.
But since the acquisition I can say that Disney really has turned this once terrible network into something good.
With re-runs of Gilmore Girls, Smallville, 7th Heaven, and Whose Line.
Original programming such as Wildfire and Beautiful People.
Movies such as EdTV, Agent Cody Banks, Dr. Doolittle, The Sandlot, Rookie of the Year, etc.
And that's just today's schedule. Granted, IMO shows like Wildfire and Beautiful people don't fit the "Family" idea, but from what I hear they are good shows. The ratings are up and I find myself watching more and more of ABC Family.
Again, I know it's not worth the money they spent ... but it's certainly doing better.

ABC Family's slate of original programs for the 2005/2006 season is weighted toward dramas designed to complement "a strong foundation of disciplined, off-network acquisitions" headed by "Gilmore Girls" and "Smallville." With a programming vision that's as diverse as his own experiences, Paul and his team have been responsible for dramatically increasing ABC Family's ratings, and Paul is confident a strategy built around off-network series, original series, and major tent pole events such as "25-Days of Christmas" can establish his network as an industry leader in ratings and brand equity.
