DVD/Blu Ray Deals for Alice in Wonderland

With Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland coming out on Blu Ray and DVD today, thought it might be good to do some price comparisons for everybody.

Here is what I've found so far:

    Amazon:
    DVD: $15.99
    Blu Ray: $19.99
    Blu Ray/DVD Combo Pack: $24.99

    Target:
    DVD: $16.99
    Blu Ray: $22.99
    Blu Ray/DVD Combo Pack: $26.99

    Best Buy:
    DVD: $16.99
    Blu Ray: $19.99
    Blu Ray/DVD Combo Pack: $26.99

    Wal Mart:
    DVD: $15.96
    Blu Ray/DVD Combo Pack: $24.96

So not really any mind-blowing deals. I don't think there is any difference in the Blu Ray or the DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital Copy as far as bonus features, just the extra copies I think.

If anybody has found any good deals, please post them.

Want to hear a mind blowing deal?

    How about $10 off?

Blu-ray.com - Disney Offering $10 Coupon for Alice in Wonderland Blu-ray

Disney does this for all of their movies. I thought you'd guys know this by now!

Thought I'd share, even though I don't like the movie!

So you could potentially pick up the Blu Ray for only $15

It's only a good deal if there is free shipping.

I heard that Best Buy gave out free posters today to the first 50 people waiting in line.

Actually, I don't think you can use that online. You'd have to go to one of the stores and buy it in person.

Gotcha. I'm too impatient, I want the Blu Ray now with all the extras. I'll be stopping at my local Best Buy today. But thanks for the info.

I just got mine from Best Buy on my lunch hour, which has this exclusive version. Basically, you get more cardboard for free.

Alice In Wonderland (2010) Best Buy Exclusive - Blu-ray Disc

Oh, and I used the coupon above to get $10 off too.

Re: DVD/Blu Ray Deals for Alice in Wonderland

I got the $10 off coupon from an e-mail from DMR.

I think I'll pass on this movie for now. I'm in no rush to get it as I thought it was a little slow. I'm sure in a couple of years it will be down to $9 like the Pirates movies and Enchanted.

Is it just me or does anyone else notice that Tim Burton excels in original ideas, but his adaptions and remakes seem to miss their mark? (with the exception of the first two Batmans)

I'd agree but a little more strongly. I thought Alice was Burton's worst movie by far. It was so bland and boring. The lack of practical sets really hurt this film for me. And I'd even be as bold to say the first Batman wasn't that great. It was very corny watching it again. Batman Returns, however, is his masterpiece along with Sleepy Hollow.

Burton's remake of Sleepy Hollow was (IMO) among his masterpieces along with Edward Scissorhands, Pee Wee, Big Fish, Beetlejuice, Sweeney Todd, Mars Attacks, Batman 1 and 2 and of course Ed Wood. He seems to have one crap movie followed by a great movie over the past decade. So the next one should be great.

I don't count Nightmare Before Christmas as he didn't direct it.

The only reason I'm bothering to get Alice is because my daughter wants it for an 8th grade graduation present.

    Probably my favourite:

    Corpse Bride was good too!

One project he's working on that will fit his style is a theatrical release of The Addams Family.

I can't believe I forgot Mars Attacks and Ed Wood. Usually those two instantly come to mind when thinking of Burton.
I love portions of Beetlejuice but a lot of it is "too weird" for me, haha.
I didn't care for Big Fish, Sweeney Todd or much of Scissorhands.
Absolutely hate Planet of the Apes and Alice in Wonderland.
I'm highly anticipating Frankenweenie, I loved that short film.
And as much as I hate remaking films that aren't that old, he would do an amazing version of Addams Family.
