Legoland California won five Brass Ring Awards at the annual IAAPA convention.

Legoland, located in Carlsbad, Calif., won the awards' top honors in “Best of Print” and “Best of Electronic” as well as “Best Media Kit,” and “Best Web site” and “Best Radio Commercial.” The park, park of the Lego chain, was sold this summer to Merlin Entertainments Group.

Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury, Conn., won two awards for “Best Media Kit” and “Best Brochure” in its class, while Visionland in Bessemer, Ala., took honors for “Best Web site” and “Best Television Commercial” in its class.

The Brass Ring Awards honor attractions for creative promotions, including radio and television ads, Web sites, brochures and media kits. The parks compete in nine categories depending on type of park and attendance.

More than 60 Brass Ring Awards were given out in the Georgia Ballroom of the convention center, which was decked out in grand style with the Del Baroni Orchestra belting out standards stage right and a cozy living room set up complete with comfy leather chair and mock fireplace stage left.
