Target guests will find a million
more reasons to love Disney DVDs this holiday season. Together, Target and
Buena Vista Home Entertainment are making a $1 million contribution to help
the kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Developed to support St. Jude's national Thanks and Giving fundraising
campaign, the $1 million donation will be used to assist researchers in their
diligent search for breakthrough discoveries that lead to life-saving cures
every day, for children in every community. Target encourages guests to share
the magic of Disney DVDs with the kids in their lives this holiday season in
honor of the $1 million donation.
"We are excited to extend our commitment to St. Jude by participating in
the Thanks and Giving campaign again this year," said Laysha Ward, vice
president of community relations, Target. "The research taking place at St.
Jude is saving lives and inspiring hope, and our partnership with Disney
provides us with a meaningful way to support this wonderful work." "Disney
cannot think of a better way to celebrate the holidays than by bringing hope,
strength and joy to children all over the world while helping to find a cure
for the diseases that endanger the lives of many," said Bob Chapek, president,
Buena Vista Home Entertainment. "We couldn't be happier to join forces with
Target in this important campaign to generate support and awareness for the
innovative work St. Jude is doing to find a cure for every child."
Target has been a partner of St. Jude since 1999 when it opened Target
House, an innovative approach to long-term housing for families whose children
