ABC programs turn in strong showing at Globes
LOS ANGELES, Dec 13 (Reuters) - ABC series "Lost," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Commander in Chief" put in strong showings at the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday as each earned a nomination for best television drama and helped ABC beat rival broadcasters.
The network, which saw a resurgence in viewership in 2005, placed comedy "Desperate Housewives" in the category for best TV musical or comedy. All four of its lead actresses -- Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria -- were nominated for best actress in a musical or comedy.
ABC garnered 16 nominations, second only to cable TV network HBO's 17. It far outdistanced broadcasters NBC with five, and CBS and Fox with four nominations apiece.
