CAA scores Leinart for biz representation

CAA said it has signed Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Matt Leinart, as well as Air 7, the nation's leading football academy where he trained for 10 years. CAA said it will represent Leinart in all off-field business ventures, with an initial focus on endorsement and licensing deals. The CAA Foundation, the philanthropic service arm of the agency, will help Leinart develop his charitable initiatives. "Matt is a truly exceptional individual with enormous potential as a personality who transcends his achievements on the field," CAA president Richard Lovett said. Leinart, who scored back-to-back national championships with the University of Southern California in 2003 and 2004, won the Heisman in 2004. "Football is my focus, so it is tremendous to have in place CAA to handle my marketing and philanthropy efforts, in conjunction with my management team at Air 7," Leinart said. (Staff report)
