So, what happens now to Toy Story 3?

With the big deal between Disney and Pixar what is going to happen to Toy Story 3? Is Disney going to insist it be done and give it to the Pixar team or will it remain with the current Disney team that did Chicken Little? OR, will it just die? Anyone have any idea? What about other projects that Disney and Pixar had in the works?

They'll be Disney films instead of "Disney presents a Pixar Presentation".

Right, but which people will be involved? Disney's plans to go forward with this film really P.O.'d Jobs. Pixar did NOT want the movie made.

    either this one proceeds
    Toy Story 3 (2008)

    Directed by
    Bradley Raymond

    Writing credits
    Jim Herzfeld (screenplay)
    Jared Stern (screenplay)

Plot Outline: The story follows Buzz Lightyear as he is recalled to Taiwan after a series of malfunctions. Learning of a productwide recall, all the toys in Andy's room, under Woody's leadership, head to Taiwan to save Buzz from doom.

(from the pedigree looks like a direct to video) and/or a true sequel evolves over time, the right way. Can't picture Tom Hanks in particular participating without the original team in place....

Wasn't the whole project put on hold while the deal with Pixar was being worked out? I do now Ratzenburg has said he will not return without Pixar's involvement, but now Pixar is Disney.

Count on a Toy Story 3...as well as a 4,5, & 6. A Christmas special, and one for Easter too. Not to mention a Finding Nemo 2,3,& 4, Incredibles 2-7, and a Monsters Inc. series were Mike finds out due to their lack of pants, he is really a girl, and marries Sully.

That says a lot about your opinion of John Lasseter, creative executive of Disney Animation.
In case you haven't noticed, Eisner is out. And so is Stainton and his sharp pencil now.

    That storyline is really disappointing.

According to Pixar the only sequel other than TS2 was Its a Bugs Life 2, it was in developement but is currently mothballed.

    The current future releases are:

Cars, aspiring young car wishes to be big time racer. Movie has promise of being Pixars best yest.

Ratatoulle, story of a French rat living in a cafe.

Ray Gun, story of a plot of bad guy and doomsday device, may be Incredibles related.

I wonder if the buyout means no more Pixar logo at the beginning?

^It's a bankable name that people have come to expect a quality product from, so I think it will stay.

From an article I read this morning, Iger stated that they were going to keep the Pixar identity and try to preserve the Pixar culture as much as possible. Iger is trying his hardest to make the transition go as smoothly as possible -- he knows firsthand from his days at ABC what goes down during the takeover of a company and wants to prevent that.

Besides, he knows that the Pixar name is too much of a good name by now -- he's not going to do something stupid like destroy the name. People will notice something's wrong when they don't see that great Castle logo followed by Luxo, Jr.

I'd be very surprised if Lasseter and Jobs ok'd Toy Story Three with the deal they just worked out. I think the original purpose of the movie was an "In your face" kind of message from Eisener. Disney may be using Pixar on the Disney Channel, but something tells me that if Jobs is on the board and Lasseter has creative input, Toy Story 3 might be bye bye.

Shows what I know. I thought Nemo was going to bomb after watching the trailer. I'm thinking the same thing now about cars. I don't get how that plot will turn into a ninety minute animated feature. But then again, it's from Pixar, so I'm sure I will be pleasantly surprised. Look how wrong I was about Nemo!

I wasn't impressed with the 'Nemo' trailer either. I was so very wrong.
