D.J. Caruso will direct Disturbia, a thriller expected to begin production by April. Steven Spielberg will executive produce the DreamWorks and Paramount project.

Written by Christopher Landon, Disturbia revolves around a troubled high school senior, still grieving over his father's death, who is sentenced to house arrest after an outburst of anger at school.

Caruso most recently directed Two for the Money, starring Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey, as well as Taking Lives and The Salton Sea. He has also helmed episodes of The Shield and Smallville.
