A baby gazelle was experiencing intestinal problems. A rainbow lorikeet had an enlarged liver. A feisty Transcaspian urial, a rare type of sheep with majestic curving horns, suffered a facial cut during a fight, and an African duck's bill showed signs of infection.

Guests at the San Diego Wild Animal Park can visit the animal hospital during two-hour tours scheduled monthly. Each tour is different, depending on the cases that day. There are also no guarantees that guests will see a procedure performed. Despite this, tours sell out quickly.
