For those of you who have most of the Disney animated mastepieces on VHS from the 80's and 90's, do you go ahead and buy the rereleased and remastered DVD's when they come out even though you technically already have it on VHS?

depends on which film and how much I like it. My favorites that I know I will watch i deffinitely pick up the special editions (I'm a sucker for special features). I don't usually buy multiple DVD editions though.
Me too. I see it that I'm buying them, not only for myself but for my future children whenever I have them. My parents can keep the VHS tapes if they like. But I must say, I currently have Lady & the Tramp on DVD (with no special features or anything) that I got for free (through one of those buy 3, get one free specials they have in some of the DVD's) and I really want the one that is coming out on Tuesday so I think I'll be giving my version to either my parents to a child that I know of. I love getting the special features.
Our VHS copies suck pretty bad. And most are not widescreen.
I have a family member who gets all the bells-and-whistles special editions, so we just get the movie, if possible. If I want to see the extras, I'll borrow them.

Yes. But like HarryB, I only buy the ones I like. Although I didn't buy Bambi, but that doesn't mean I won't. That reminds me, I need to go get Lady and the Tramp. Bye............

I have many Disney movies on VHS but stopped getting VHS after "The Little Mermaid" was re-released. Now I get the DVD's, but like everyone else, I will not get the same movie, unless if it has some really fun special features.
I only buy Special, Platinum, and Masterpiece edition DVD's. I'd get them for the special features alone. Anything that can change your perception of a classic or cause you to appreciate it even more is worth it IMO.
